No Official Country, on the train between Hong Kong and Guangzhou (China)

Posted by Robert

After our flight was delayed by 2 hours in Sydney, our arrival in Hong Kong was welcomed but late. As we’re trying to be cheap this trip, we caught the train into town and transferred onto the local MTR subway to get to our hotel. It was an excellent service (how do they make a train so quiet?) and really fast - probably quicker then a cab (and much cheaper).

We didn’t get to the hotel until midnight (3am Home time) and thus far this morning we’ve only had a walk around HK for a few hours before jumping on this intercity train to get to Guangzhou (we come back to Hong Kong for a while at the end of the trip). While the purpose of the day was to show Kylie around a little, including a view of Hong Kong island through the smog that constantly drifts over from China & find a hotel for when we get back, this all took second place to eating noodles at my favourite hole in the wall eatery (that I've been looking foward to for weeks).

In Guangzhou now, I'd put visibility at 2 kms max.
